Rome During my sophomore year, I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Rome, Italy in Fall 2016. While I was there I took four courses: Italian, Benedict Yesterday and Today, Grandeur of Rome, and Art History. Along with being immersed in the Italian culture, I was also able to travel to many other countries and experience the diversity within each culture. Studying in Rome helped me grow into a better person today and has taught me the importance of relationships and community. The beauty, hardship, and love that comes from an intentional relationship is something I will always take with me as a daughter, sister, friend, coworker, and teacher.

These experiences have opened my eyes to different ways of seeing the world. The children that I have encountered have taught me how to be gentle, patient and learn to find creative ways to accomplish a task.
